Choose Six from the list:-
1. Kuih Ketayap
Also known as Kuih Dadar, this is a soft rolled crepe made with pandan-flavored batter. It’s filled with freshly grated coconut that has been caramelized in gula Melaka (palm sugar).
Taste & Texture: Soft and chewy on the outside with a moist, sweet coconut filling.
2. Kuih Kosoi (Kuih Kaswi)
A steamed brown cake made from rice flour, tapioca flour, and gula Melaka, then topped with freshly grated coconut.
Taste & Texture: Bouncy and slightly sticky with a deep, earthy sweetness from palm sugar.
3. Kuih Lapis
A beautiful, multi-layered kuih made from rice flour, coconut milk, and natural food coloring. Traditionally enjoyed by peeling off one layer at a time.
Taste & Texture: Smooth, slightly firm, and gently sweet. A childhood favorite.
4. Rose Sago
This kuih is made with tiny sago pearls tinted pink and infused with rose essence. Steamed into a chewy, translucent square and often topped with edible gold for presentation.
Taste & Texture: Chewy and aromatic with a refreshing floral scent.
5. Kuih Talam
A traditional two-layered kuih – the bottom green layer is flavored with pandan, while the top white layer is made from salted coconut milk.
Taste & Texture: Creamy on top, firm and sweet at the base – a perfect balance of sweet and savory.
6. Seri Muka
This kuih has a base of glutinous rice topped with a green pandan custard layer. Often served in square or diamond cuts.
Taste & Texture: Sticky and creamy; slightly salty bottom layer complements the sweet, soft custard top.
7. Bingka Ubi
Made from grated tapioca (ubi kayu), coconut milk, and sugar, this kuih is baked until golden brown with crispy edges and a chewy inside.
Taste & Texture: Caramelized, chewy, and dense with a rich coconut flavor.
8. Pulut Tai Tai
This vibrant blue-and-white glutinous rice kuih is colored naturally with bunga telang (butterfly pea flower) and traditionally served with kaya.
Taste & Texture: Lightly salted sticky rice, aromatic and dense, best paired with sweet kaya.
9. Angku Kuih (Mini)
A traditional red tortoise-shaped kuih with a chewy glutinous rice skin and sweet filling, usually mung bean, peanut, or red bean paste.
Taste & Texture: Soft and chewy outside, smooth and flavorful inside.
10. Onde Onde
These green glutinous rice balls are infused with pandan juice, filled with melted gula Melaka, and coated in fresh grated coconut.
Taste & Texture: Soft and springy on the outside, with a sweet explosion of palm sugar inside.
